Families who receive child care benefits through the County Assistance Office (CAO) will have their child care providers reimbursed by Child Care Information Services (CCIS).
Eligibility. The CAO will determine if your family is eligible for child care benefits when you have an open TANF, Food Stamp or General Assistance case.
Reporting. Clients with child care benefits through the CAO should continue to report the following to their caseworker (863-6571) or the Call Change Center (1-877-395-8930):
- Demographic information—name, marital status
- Household composition—individuals moving in and/or out of the household, newborns, deaths, incarcerations, etc.
- Address
- Employment—starting, ending, hours or wages
- Income—starting, ending, amount
- Training activities—starting, stopping, attendance
- Need for an increase in days/hours of care
The following should be reported to the CCIS:
- Child care provider changes
- Schedule change
- Change in the need for care
Co-payment. If you are receiving TANF benefits and have a paid work activity, you will have a weekly co-payment. The assigned amount should be paid directly to the program/person providing care to your child.
Payment. Payment for your child care costs will be made directly to your approved child care provider on a monthly basis.
